Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Lucy and I thought we'd go out and run the turkey trot this morning but when we got there they were all out of "chips". 2500 people had pre-registered for the race and we had not. So basically, we could've run the trot but it wouldn't count. We didn't even have to pay to run the race. Lame. We wanted to do it competitively not b/c we have amazing times but just for the rush of it. So we walked our sad butts back to the car and headed home. We were bummed that we wouldn't be officially part of the race. We'll go for our own run later when it stops spritzing.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving today. We will be eating late as we wait for the Fosco's to join us later in the evening for our dinner. For now, the Macy's day parade.
Today I am thankful for sleeping kids at 9:12AM! Wow!

Cirque De Solei
Grandma Lucy took us to see Cirque de Solei (not sure how to spell it??) and it was AWESOME. It was called Cirque Dreams Holidaze and right before your eyes Xmas came to life along with amazing acrobats. The kids loved it although Daniela fell asleep after the intermission. Imagin D asleep before 10pm. That's because she was up very late the night before. Anyway, it was an amazing show. I never really had the desire to see Cirque so I was really pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the show.
The rest of the day entailed a whole lot of nothing...nice being off from work. In our jammies all morning, went for a run on the peninsula looking for the perfect spot to get my Xmas picture this year, kids baked cookies with Grammy, Casey fished (shocking!), and I also got a little xmas shopping done. Feels good.
Hopefully i can get some more shopping in today. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I think it has to be my favorite holiday. All you do is eat and be grateful. No gifts, no candy's, no decorating, no costumes...just being grateful. Really takes out any stress the December holiday can offer. So as we prepare for the big feast tomorrow let's all reflect on what we are thankful for.
Today, I am very thankful for vacation days!
Happy Gobble Gobble.

The Manganiello's
Do you have friends that you just love but don't get to see very often? Wish you could but life's little roller coaster always gets in the way? I know I have a few...Ruthy, Angela, Maylu and Steph just to name 4. And of course, The Manganiello's. I've been friends with Rose Mary for at least 12 years. She's a true friend. Someone you can always trust no matter what. She's so real. We don't get to see them often and we only live 5 minutes away (different towns though). We are both always so busy with whatever it is we have going on at that moment. We've been lucky to see them now for two weekends in a row! Yesterday we went to their house for dinner and it was just so fun and so relaxing. My girls and her two little boys play so cute together. Ages range from 1 to 7. And it doesn't matter that they are boys vs. girls....the age differences...i think these kids know that she and I are soul friends (sort of like soul mates - just read that on a blog today)...They know that we have a great friendship and they share in our joy of friendship.
So today, I am thankful for my friends. We are so fortunate to have so many and are truly blessed for all of them. What are you thankful for today?

V.I.P. Day
V.I.P. Day at School #2 - What an awesome afternoon we had yesterday. The 2nd graders have this great event called VIP Day. The kids get to invite a Very Important Person in their lives other than their than parents. Christina picked Meredith our friend and babysitter. Meredith came into our lives when we needed her most. When Christina started Kindergarten, Daniela was in the heat of her chemo treatments. I couldn't get to school to pick her up and I wasn't thrilled with the after school program at the time. After much pursuing, she finally called me back and said she could be our baby sitter and pick up Christina 3 days a week a school. What a relief! Pursuing is the operative word here...because you see Meredith is famous.. she is the baby sitter for Joe Tori (previous coach of the Yankees and now Dodgers). Yup Joe Tori. Well not Joe Tori himself - he has body guards - his daughter. So in the midst of me pursuing her she was finalizing her schedule with the Tori's. We hit the jack pot with Meredith. She's is AWESOME and to us will always be a VIP. She smart, beautiful inside and out and just down right fun. The girls love her. And Casey and I have adopted a new member of our family. She doesn't babysit for us much anymore but we are happy that she still a part of our life. Her own family is amazing and I'm fortunate enough that they are both educators in Christina's school and I get to see them often.
So here's to Meredith...Christina's VIP and our dear, dear friend. We love you Meredith! Thanks for being you! Thanks for coming into our lives.
We will post a picture later.....

Not Sure???

I'm really not sure where the time goes. Next week it's already Thanksgiving and before you know it Tis' the season. So i have definetly been a horrible blogger. I think in a way I knew that would happen after the closing of Daniela's Journey. I figured I would have nothing left to say after all that was done...or actually who would listen? So i haven't written much and I really enjoy writing...so it's sad that I have put this blog on the back burner for so long. So let me see where i have left off... a lot happens in the last 3 months.
so here goes....2nd grader...pre-ker...football/cheerleading season....daniela hated soccer ....jazz/ballet/tap...crash course in ccd ...Brian's Run... Haircuts....Paterson Falls Festival ... Church harvest festival... bon fire...Bruce Springstein concert... mystery reader... painful flu shot for me ...more football games never won one!... more ccd ...reconciliation my daughter the sinner ... simply tasteful party ...tricky tray wrapping .... lots of wrapping .... church tour... world series game ... meredith on tv ... halloween...lots of candy ....rainy halloween... scrabooking class ...bday parts ... bunco x 3 ...communion...photo shoot...parent teacher conference ...class trip....back to school for d... and most recently a tick in embedded in daniela's head....not a deer tick.
and this is just a snipit....i guess this could be a good reason why i don't write too often. but here is why i should....i want to be sure i remember all the little things and at times I find that i am forgetting them with age and time. so i have to make sure that i keep writing in this blog for my kids history and for all our friends and family to read.
Have A Great Weekend! I'm off today from work. Went on Christina's class trip this morning and headed back this afternoon for a VIP day ...so in between I've had lunch and some time to write in the blog.

Enjoy a few of our pictures over the last few months. Finally this weekend a nice quiet one =).
